Translation in the chain
Where does the translation fit?
- Document going abroad The sources describe two routes: an apostille on the original, or a translation certified by a notary with the apostille then confirming the notary’s signature. The receiving authority says which it wants.
- Foreign document used in Türkiye The sources describe an apostille in its country first, then a Turkish translation with notary certification; the Turkish institution receiving it confirms its own requirement.
- Sometimes none is needed Multilingual civil status extracts and some treaties remove the translation or the apostille. The authority that receives the document decides.
The translation office behind this site translates documents for these chains. Tell us the document, the target language and the country.

- Apostille reader: the ten fields of the certificate Explains each of the ten numbered fields of an apostille, what it certifies and where a Turkish apostille is checked on the official pages.
- Checklist builder: tickable steps built from the route Turns the route for a document, country and direction into a tickable list, headed by four questions for the receiving authority. Nothing is stored.
- Cost items: which fees appear on the route, no amounts Lists the fee items that a document, country and direction bring up; no amounts, since official fees belong to the authority and translation to the quote.
- Document freshness: an apostille does not extend validity Counts the age of a document in days and months, and reminds that the apostille adds no validity; the freshness limit belongs to the receiving authority.
- Is a translation needed? Document, country and its place Shows what sources say on translation for the chosen document and country, and where it sits in the chain; the receiving authority has the last word.
- Order check: translation, notary and apostille in sequence Up to five steps placed in order; the checker names the rule the sequence breaks, from notary before translation to a ministry stamp after an apostille.
- Paper or electronic: which documents e-Apostil covers Whether the Turkish e-Apostil system covers the chosen document and, if not, which authority issues the paper apostille; built from the official FAQ.
- Party state check: apostille or consular legalisation? Shows a country’s standing under the Apostille Convention with Türkiye, dated from the HCCH status table: in force, pending, exempt or not verified.
- Rejection reasons: what the authority said and the fix Pick one of nine objections a receiving authority makes; the checker gives the likely cause and the link of the chain that has to be redone.
- Route finder: steps by document, country and direction Choose the document, the destination country and the direction; the checker lists the certification steps in order and says what it leaves out.
